Research on Large Igneous Provinces, by Scientist in Residence Dr. Richard Ernst, has just been highlighted on page 82 of DISCOVER magaine (Jan/Feb 2018 issue). This issue presents their top 100 science stories for 2017.  Dr. Ernst's research, "A New Look at Mega-Eruptions" is number 85.

The KEGS (Canadian Exploartion Geophysical Society) Foundation awards every year scholarships directed at fostering the education of future geophysicists in Canada. For 2017-18, three graduate students from Dr. Claire Samson's research group received KEGS Foundation scholarships:
