I study the tectonic evolution of orogenic belts, systematics of geochronology in polydeformed metamorphic rocks, and structural and timing controls on ore deposits.  I have been on the faculty at Carleton University since 1990, and am a founding director of the Isotope Geochemstry and Geochronology Research Centre (IGGRC).

My graduate students and I are studying topical structural and tectonic problems in the Canadian Cordillera and the Grenville Province, relationships between shear zones and metamorphism, and relationships between fault systems, magmatism and metallogeny.
